Current Second Semester studies in art.

What are we studying in the art room?

Kindergarten- We are studying snow, trees, perspective, and genres in art(still life, portrait, landscape, sculpture, non objective, abstract, etc.).
First- We are studying Eric Carle, collages, textures, watercolor, drawing machines.
Second - We are studying birch trees, scumbling tempera paint, shadows, footprints, shading techniques, cylinders, wind.
Third- We are studying how to invent games, sketch everyday items, genres in art, playful lines, toothpick sculptures, the artists: Andy Goldsworthy, Deb Butterfield
Fourth- We are studying wildlife illustration, how to draw habitats and fish, how to write an informational paper on wildlife conservation and how to save water.
Fifth - We are studying dragons in clay.  We are designing optical illusions for our playground surfaces, and learning about the Hobbit for an upcoming performance of larger than life puppet theater.
